A colour can start with something familiar. A plum, a cherry, a sweet picked from a tray. Put it beside a different texture or tone, and it takes on a character of its own.
For our 2027 diaries, photographer Jaimee Lowe explored that idea through three still lifes. Each began with a name from the collection: Damson, Cherry and Mochi. Together, they offer a closer look at the colours we carry into our everyday.

Damson: depth and contrast
Deep blue meets a rich red backdrop. In Jaimee’s first palette, the fruit gives Damson its starting point, while a silver pen brings a small flash of light.

There’s plenty to notice up close: the texture of the cover, the curve of a plum, the fine edges of the pages. Familiar objects become a study in shape, with the diary holding the composition together.

Cherry: a cooler mood
Cherry takes the series in a cooler direction. The second palette draws on the feeling of its namesake, even outside cherry season. It’s a reminder that a colour name can suggest an atmosphere as much as an ingredient.
That shift is part of the pleasure of the series. One starting point, three very different moods.

Mochi: something sweet
For the final palette, strawberry pink sits against Mochi’s chocolate-brown cover. Soft colour, rounded shapes and the shine of silver give this part of the series a playful warmth.

A spoon crosses the cover. Pink slips of paper fan out from the pages. The close-ups invite a second look at an object made to be picked up and used every day.

A colour to spend the year with
Choosing a diary starts with how you like to plan. Colour makes that choice a little more personal. Something you enjoy seeing on your desk, reaching for in your bag and opening again tomorrow.
We loved seeing Jaimee find a world within each of these three palettes. A small invitation to look more closely at the things around us.
